GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the James Madison softball program were recognized Tuesday for their excellence both on the field and in the classroom as
Kirsten Fleet,
Madison Edwards, and
Bella Henzler earned selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Fleet, a Kinesiology major, appeared in 37 games with 13 starts, pitching 99.1 innings while tallying two complete games and three saves, finishing the season with a 5.00 ERA. In the classroom, Fleet was recognized as both a JMU Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete and a Dean's List honoree during the Fall 2025 semester.
Edwards, who is pursuing a degree in sport and recreation management, started all 51 games for the Dukes during the 2026 campaign. The junior infielder finished the season with a .314 batting average, totaling 49 hits, nine doubles, one triple and three home runs. Edwards recorded 12 multi-hit games while compiling a season-best nine-game hitting streak. Off the field, Edwards earned JMU Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete honors and was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2025 semester.
Henzler, also pursuing a degree in sport and recreation management, collected CSC Academic All-District honors after returning to the lineup in 2026 following an injury-shortened 2025 season. The redshirt junior catcher started all 51 games behind the plate and batted .283 with 43 hits, six home runs and 25 RBI while posting a .434 slugging percentage.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic accomplishments. Nominees must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while competing in a majority of their team's contests throughout the season.
