HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison volleyball (4-5) swept Delaware State (9-4) on day two of the LD&B Insurance Invitational to remain undefeated at the Convocation Center this season.

En route to the 3-0 win (25-19, 25-12, 25-18), JMU hit .337 (39-12-84) while holding Delaware State to a .112 hitting percentage (24-15-80). The win was a balanced effort with 11 of 14 Dukes tallying points.

The Dukes and Hornets traded scores early as they settled into play, including an early 5-4 lead set one for the Hornets. The Dukes, however, put together a 4-0 spurt to move in front; they never again trailed in the match.

Kennedy Louisell led all players with 14 kills, her 40th consecutive performance in double digits. Addie Norman dropped in eight kills while Ayen Nhial added five. Overall, seven Dukes notched kills in the victory.

Six Dukes tallied blocks in the victory, led by Anna Wilson (4.0). B'Lise Bradley, making her first appearance of the season, was credited with 2.0 blocks of her own.

JMU wraps up the the LD&B Insurance Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 20 with a 3 p.m. contest against George Mason.

How We Got Here
Set One - JMU 25, Del State 19

JMU got the scoring started, going up 3-1 before Delaware State put together a 3-0 run to take the early lead.
The Dukes and Hornets battled early before a 6-0 run gave JMU a 15-8 advantage heading into the media timeout.
Out of the break, Delaware State pulled to within three (17-14) before JMU used a 3-0 run to push the lead back to six (20-14).
A 5-1 run by the Hornets made it a two-point game (21-19), prompting a Dukes timeout. Coming out of the stoppage, Delaware State tallied a service error to kick off a JMU run (4-0) to end the match (25-19).

Set Two - JMU 25, Del State 12

JMU opened on a 3-0 run and stretched it to a 6-1 starting run before Delaware State called a timeout to regroup.
The Hornets rallied with a 4-1 run to pull within two (7-5) before the Dukes used four straight to push its lead back out to six (11-5). Another 3-0 JMU run gave the Dukes a 15-7 lead heading into the media timeout.
JMU led by 10 or more three times and closed the set on a 5-0 scoring run to take the win.
B'Lise Bradley got her first action of the season, tallying a block on her first point of play.
The Dukes led wire-to-wire.

Set Three - JMU 25, Del State 18

JMU once again opened on a 4-0 run and climbed all the way to a 7-2 lead.
The Hornets settled in and pulled within two (7-5), but the Dukes pulled together a 4-0 run and jumped back to a six-point advantage (11-5). JMU led 15-8 at the media break.
After JMU pushed its lead out to double digits, Delaware State clawed back to within six but the Dukes held steady and closed out the match with a 25-18 win in set three.
The Dukes never trailed in the set.

Match Notes

JMU tallied 12 service aces in the victory, just the second time this season the Dukes have reached double-digit aces.
The Dukes finished with eight blocks, the first time this season the team did not reach the double-digit mark.
B'Lise Bradley made her first appearance of the season, making 2.0 blocks to double her career total.
Peri Linterman, making her second appearance of the season, scored the first 3.0 kills of her second year.
The win brings Head Coach Lauren Steinbrecher to 299 for her career.
