Greenberg Named Campbell Trophy Semifinalist

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison offensive lineman Zach Greenberg has been named a semifinalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday.

Greenberg is one of 206 semifinalists for college football's premier scholar-athlete award. Now in its 37th year, the Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

The Livingston, New Jersey, native has appeared in 48 career games (Muhlenberg (2021-23), North Carolina (2024), James Madison (2025-26)) and has made 17 starts at JMU. Greenberg, who was named a captain for the season opener against Liberty, graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science and is currently pursuing a master's in adult education/human resource development.Â

Greenberg was an All-Sun Belt selection last season and appeared on the league's preseason team entering this fall. He also was named to the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award Watch Lists prior to the start of the year.Â

The NFF will announce finalists on Oct. 21, who will travel to the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 68th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8. The 37th Campbell Trophy recipient will be announced at the event.Â
