Dukes Mentor Dukes is a self-guided mentorship program that focuses on cultivating strong, trusting relationships between experienced individuals and current JMU student-athletes.
Our Vision
Utilize our extensive James Madison University Alumni base and industry leaders to support and guide current student-athletes toward their personal and professional goals.
Program Structure
- Each prospective mentor and mentee fill out an intake form and is matched by the Dukes Lead team based on student-athlete industry preference and general interest.
- Upon matching in the fall, a profile, a handbook, and general guidelines will be provided to both mentor and mentee.
- The pair engages in a year-long relationship, with at least three touch points per semester.
- The Dukes Lead team will reach out via survey, phone call, or email once a semester to collect feedback.
- After the initial year is over, the pair may elect to stay matched or request a new mentor or mentee.
- Mentors will be invited to in-person events hosted by the Dukes Lead team.
