Meredith Cox Crawford arrived at JMU as part of the fundraising staff of the Duke Club in August of 2014. In the summer of 2017, she shifted roles and now serves as assistant athletic director forÂ
student-athlete leadership development. In this role, Meredith is implementing a plan to have JMU student-athletes prepare for a well-rounded life after college. Dukes LEAD consists of several opportunities for JMU’s student-athletes to explore topics outside of sport and academics, including: Guest Speakers, Career Development, Community Service, SAAC, Affinity Groups, Leadership Academy, and more. She also is the sport administrator for JMU Cheerleading, assisting the program with their goal of being ambassadors of JMU Athletics and competing at UCA Nationals.Â

Prior to arriving in Harrisonburg, Meredith was the manager of athletics development at Bucknell. There, Meredith met with various constituents of the university including alumni and parents to garner support to enable their athletic teams to compete highly in the Patriot League. Prior to Bucknell, Meredith was the associate director of alumni affairs at Shenandoah. In this role, she was in charge of all alumni communications, including the website, email marketing, social media and ground mailings. She also served as assistant women's basketball coach at Shenandoah for three years.

Meredith is a 2010 graduate of Georgetown, where she was a Division I student-athlete on the women's basketball team. She received her undergraduate degree in English and continued her studies at Georgetown earning a master's in sports management in 2011. She was a two-year starter for the Hoyas' women's basketball squad and earned Big East All-Academic honors in each of her four seasons. Meredith was also president of the Georgetown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was selected for the GU Student-Athlete Veteran Leader program.

When not in the office, Meredith enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding her Peloton and reading. She and fellow Hoya Tyler Crawford were married in May 2015 and have two children, Ryder, born September 2017, and Morgan, born November 2019.
