Prior to his return to Harrisonburg, Jackson was student-athlete development coordinator with the University of Pittsburgh’s Student-Athlete Development Program (Life Skills) for nearly two years (2023-25). While at Pitt, Jackson oversaw community service and engagement efforts for its 19 athletic programs, contributing to over 7,500 hours of community service. Jackson also advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and served as the Life Skills Personalized Education advisor for four varsity programs. He also orchestrated strategic initiatives with the Panthers United members to promote equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging within the department.
Before going to Pitt, Jackson was a graduate assistant and assistant director with JMU’s Student-Athlete Leadership & Development program while pursuing his master’s degree. Jackson structured the Dukes LEAD program with 14 marquee workshops for the year that focused on career readiness, personal development and leadership development.
