Nathan Applebaum is in his second season with the James Madison football program in 2025, as he serves as director of player personnel.
In his role, his primary roles include coordinating the daily prospective student-athlete recruiting operational and logistical processes for the program. He also plans and executes an annual vision of the recruiting calendar, which includes mail, video and graphics.
Applebaum identifies, evaluates, collects and organizes data on PSA's to be distributed to Coach Chesney and his staff. Additionally, he develops, implements and manages the film evaluation process for high school or transfer athletes while working alongside the director of on-campus recruiting.
Applebaum joined the Dukes after spending two seasons at Fresno State (2022-23), where he was assistant director of player personnel.
Prior to Fresno, Applebaum was a scouting and recruiting assistant at Michigan State in 2021. While in East Lansing, Applebaum’s role was to break down film to identify quality targets for Michigan State. Aside from identifying targets, Applebaum played a key role in recruiting visits with prospects.
Before Michigan State, Applebaum worked at Florida where he held multiple roles within the program as a recruiting intern, as well as video operations assistant.
