Rebekah Barfield joined JMU as the academic advisor for the men’s and women’s soccer programs in summer of 2023. She works with student-athletes across both teams to foster success in the classroom and in life. Before coming to JMU, Barfield worked first as an academic mentor and then as an assistant learning specialist within Texas A&M’s Center for Student-Athlete Services. Barfield holds a B.A degree in political science and philosophy from Mississippi State, and a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in higher education policy & management from Texas A&M.
