SOFTBALL FALLS TO NORTH FLORIDA

CHARLESTON, S.C., FEB. 18, 2007 ? Ashley Parenteau hit the first pitch out of the park to give North Florida a 1-0 lead in the first inning as they would go on to defeat James Madison 3-2.
In the second inning, Julia Dominguez (Sterling, Va./Park View) tied the game on a sacrifice fly by Tamara Carrera (San Diego, Calif./Bonita Vista) coming home from third base.
North Florida struck back in the top of the fourth when Gwen Williams scored on a single by Elizabeth Howell to take a 2-1 lead.
 The Dukes would again come back to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth when Jenn Chavez (Upland, Calif./Upland) hit a home run over the right field fence.
The Ospreys would again take the lead in the top of the fifth when Gwen Williams scored from third when Elizabeth Howell reached on an error. The run gave North Florida a 3-2 lead, which they would not give up.
Meredith Felts (Greenville, N.C./J.H. Rose) pitched a complete game for JMU, giving up three runs, one of which was earned, on five hits and seven strikeouts.
 JMU will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. for the Florida Atlantic Tournament from Feb. 23-25
