WILMINGTON, N.C., Oct. 29, 2008 -- League-leading North Carolina Wilmington used two second-half goals to record a 2-0 win over James Madison in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer Wednesday evening.
UNCW won its fifth consecutive game and improved to 10-7-0 overall and 7-2-0 in the league play. JMU dropped to 6-7-3 overall and 3-5-1 in the CAA. .
The Seahawks scored both goals in a span of 8:10 early the second half. Kirk Hudgins scored off a pass from Allen Lomax 8:05 into the half, then Devan Carroll netted an unassisted goal 16:15 into the period.
JMU held a 12-10 advantage on shots in the match. Dukes' redshirt freshman goalkeeper Justin Epperson (Herndon, Va./Oakton) made two saves, and UNCW goaltender Brock Duckworth made five saves.
