ANNAPOLILS, Md., Oct. 15, 2010 - James Madison swept both the one-meter and three-meter diving events, but Navy won 12 of the remaining 13 events as the Dukes dropped their opening dual meet of the season 172-128 to the Midshipmen at Lejeune Hall on Friday afternoon.

Senior Jessie Everett (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) and junior Nicole Jotso (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) each recorded individual event wins in the one-meter and three-meter dives, respectively. Everett won the one-meter dive with a score of 274.95 as the Dukes took the top four spots in the event. In the three-meter dive, Jotso scored a 298.80, leading a trio of Madison divers.

Senior Carly Gibson (Bethesda, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) also picked up an individual event win for the Dukes, finishing first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.39. Junior Eva Hannesdottir (Seltjarnanes, Iceland/Kvennaskolinn), a transfer from New Orleans, recorded a 1:00.01 time to finish second.

Senior Lisa Colapietro (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) finished second in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Colapietro, the school record holder in both events, finished with the 100 in 1:14.52 and the 200 in a time of 2:39.77.

Reigning CAA Rookie Swimmer of the Year Andrea Criscuolo (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) took second in the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:05.92 and third in the 200 butterfly with a 2:25.53.

In addition to Hannesdottir, several other Dukes made their debuts for the Dukes against Navy. Junior transfer Catalina Mendieta (Parkland, Fla./Marjory Stoneman Douglas) finished third in the 50 freestyle and fourth in the 100 butterfly while freshman Addy Morrison (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) appeared in three events, including a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley.
