HARRISONBURG, Va. - UNCW scored twice in the opening 10 minutes on Sunday afternoon, putting the James Madison women's soccer team in a hole it couldn't climb out of as the Dukes dropped a 3-1 decision in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer action at Sentara Park.
 
The Dukes (5-8-1, 2-3 CAA) outshot UNCW (9-2-1, 5-1 CAA) on the afternoon by a 13-9 margin and put six shots on target to the Seahawks' four, but couldn't battle back from the early deficit in the loss.

Ariana Reyes all tallied a pair of shots on the day for JMU. Sophomore goalkeeper 
Alexandra Blom notched three saves in the effort.
 
UNCW forward Kayla Burroughs scored each of the first two goals for the Seahawks, while Audrey Harding and Bentley Settin each notched a pair of assists.

6' | Burroughs opened the scoring just 5:35 into the match, finishing from close range after a good buildup from Harding and Settin.
9' | Just 3:17 later, Burroughs doubled the advantage with a similar-looking goal, again burying a feed from Harding from close range to make it 2-0.
28' | Harding did the scoring herself just before the half-hour, pushing the lead to three off another pass from Settin.

78' | After a handball in the box, Rabot took advantage of the penalty kick, burying her shot to cut the lead to 3-1.
 
UP NEXT
The Dukes will hit the road this week for a pair of crucial matches, beginning with a 6 p.m. matchup at College of Charleston on Thursday, Oct. 21. The Cougars played to a 2-2 draw at Towson on Sunday to move to 2-9-3 (1-3-1 CAA) on the season.
