THE DUKES

Last time out, James Madison held Longwood to 13-of-56 (23.2%) from the field to cruise past the Lancers, 82-55, on Thursday night inside Willett Hall.
Senior Kiki Jefferson led all players with a season-high 26 points on 9-of-12 (75.0%) from the floor and 3-of-5 (60.0%) from downtown. Juniors Peyton McDaniel and Jamia Hazell notched season-highs in scoring as well with 15 and 10, respectively.
With a 26-point performance against the Lancers, Jefferson has scored at least 20 points in seven straight outings, extending her streak from last season. Moreover, the streak is the longest of her career.
JMU held the advantage in rebounds (57-20), bench points (40-8), and points in the paint (40-10).
The Dukes' 57 rebounds are the second time this season the team has grabbed 50-plus boards. James Madison recently recorded 51 rebounds against Queens (N.C.) on Nov. 13.
Moreover, the team is currently ranked #2 in the nation in rebounding margin, out-rebounding opponents by an average of 24.8 boards per game. JMU is also 31st in the country in rebounds per outing at 46.8.
The Dukes have now scored 80 or more points in three consecutive games since the 2013-14 season when they defeated Northeastern (85-57, Feb. 7), Towson (82-40, Feb. 9), and UNCW (92-43, Feb. 14).

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS

#13 North Carolina is off to a 3-0 start, most recently defeating South Carolina State 93-25 on Nov. 16.
The Tar Heels have five scorers averaging double figures, led by juniors Kennedy Todd-Williams and Alyssa Ustby with 15.7 ppg.
Junior guard Deja Kelly was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Team and the Tar Heels were picked fifth in this year's ACC race.
UNC is tied for sixth in the country in scoring defense, holding opponents to 44.0 points per contest. Additionally, the team is fifth in field goal percentage defense at 25.7%.

SERIES HISTORY

The Tar Heels lead the all-time series 3-1. Additionally, North Carolina has won the last three meetings and has never lost in Harrisonburg.
When these teams met last, UNC came out on top 93-47 on Dec. 5. Then-sophomore Jamia Hazell scored 20 points while Jaylin Carodine chipped in with nine.
