MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The divers of James Madison closed out a successful weekend at the West Virginia Invitational, sending multiple divers to the finals of both individual events and recording the most points among the women's teams with 117.

The invitational began on Thursday, Nov. 16 with the 1-meter board, as JMU had five qualify for the finals. To qualify,
Alexa Holloway had the second best score in prelims at 260.60 and was followed by
Maddie Yager (253.50),
Kate Vitolo (246.20),
Lexi Lehman (239.75) and
Abi White (230.50).

Holloway, Vitolo and Yager took second to fourth place in the championship finals with scores of 277.50, 264.00 and 260.20, respectively. In the consolation finals, White placed fourth with a score of 255.95 and Lehman took seventh behind a score of 229.05. JMU was the only team to have more than three divers qualify for finals.

On Friday, the Dukes one-upped themselves by qualifying six divers into the 3-meter board finals. Holloway took the top spot in the prelims with a score of 291.20, being joined in the finals by Vitolo (251.15), Lehman (249.20), Yager (232.85),
Natalie Jones (230.15) and
Maddie O'Mera (228.70).

In the championship finals, Holloway placed fourth with a score of 283.05 and was followed by Vitolo who finished fifth with a score of 262.10. The consolation finals saw O'Mera (248.00), Jones (244.60) and Lehman (240.40) took second to fourth places in order. Yager took eighth with a score of 198.50.

The team event wrapped up the invitational on Saturday, where the Dukes finished 10
th with a score of 213.70.

The divers concluded their fall portion of the schedule and will be back in the pool in 2024, when they take on George Mason and Fairfield in a tri-meet at Savage Natatorium on Jan. 13.
