LEXINGTON, Va. – James Madison track & field saw three of its multi-event student-athletes finish top 10 in the pentathlon at the VMI Winter Relays on Friday afternoon inside the Corps Physical Training Facility.

Senior
Bethany Biggi led the charge with a fourth-place finish, tallying a season-high 3,427 total points. Her performance was 50 points short of breaking her career-best pentathlon score of 3,476, set at last year's IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships, on March 4-6.

How It Happened
- Freshman Jenna Callan opened the meet strong with a personal-best time of 9.15 in the 60m hurdles for third.
- Biggi cleared 1.66m in the high jump for second, just .01m shy of tying her career-best indoor mark. Freshman Gracen King had her highest finish of the day in the event, finishing eighth at 1.51m.
- Callan finished runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 5.51m, the best by any Duke so far this season. Senior Erin Babashak took third in 5.33m, while Biggi placed fifth with a 5.23m effort.
- Biggi finished strong, claiming a first-place finish in the 800m run (2:28.18) to finish fourth overall in the competition with 3,427 points.
- Callan accumulated a career-best 3,096 points for sixth, while King rounded out the top 10 with 2,841.

Other members of the track & field program will compete tomorrow at the Sykes & Sabock Invitational, hosted by Penn State. The first event of the day kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with the mixed 3000m run.
