Sky Bleu Tyson will compete at the 2026 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships, which will take place June 18-19 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Â
The trio will be the first Dukes to compete at the meet since
Jordyn Henderson finished ninth in the first round of the 100-meter hurdles (13.95) in 2022. Britton (400m) begins competition on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by Tyson (400H) at 4:18 p.m. ET. Â
Britton qualified for the national meet in the 400-meter dash after producing a personal-best effort of 53.65 for fourth at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship – clearing the standard of 54.00. Her performance also moved her into second all-time in the event in program history.
Â
Byrd, the Dukes' lone NCAA East First Round participant, recorded a mark of 6.30m (20-8) at April's Virginia Challenge to punch her ticket to Eugene. The Norfolk, Va. native owns the No. 2 spots in both the indoor and outdoor long jump in the JMU record book.
Â
Lastly, Tyson saved her best for last, also setting a PR at the conference meet with a time of 1:00.04 in the 400-meter hurdles for fourth – which is also good for fourth in program history.
