Dukes Fall in Home Regular-Season Finale to Georgia State

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison men's soccer fell in its home regular-season finale on Friday night, 1-0, to Georgia State at Sentara Park.
The Dukes dropped to 7-3-6 overall and 3-2-3 in Sun Belt Conference matches, as their 11-match home unbeaten streak was snapped. The Panthers snapped their eight-match winless streak and improved to 4-7-5, 1-4-3 SBC.
Redshirt senior Evan Southern paced JMU's offense with four shots, while junior Sebastian Conlon made one save in goal.
Quoting Head Coach Paul Zazenski
"Tonight was a touch one as we would have loved to get a result on senior night. This loss is on me."

How It Happened
- JMU had the first opportunity on goal in the ninth minute as Southern's shot was saved.
- Georgia State netted their goal as Tom Williams took a shot that Conlon saved and Williams followed it up with a chip on an open net. A JMU defender raced in and deflected it away, but the ball bounced off the post and back into the goal.
- Southern had another chance in the 75th minute with a run down the side of the box, but a save by Georgia State negated the shot.
