GREENWOOD, Ind. – Graduate student Nick Schlickenrieder and sophomore Václav Tichý of James Madison men's golf have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Schlickenrieder closed his JMU career with a stroke average of 73.40, which included five in the 60s and a career-low 66 in the third round of the Virtues Intercollegiate on Sept. 26. He also placed 10th in the season-opening Streamsong Invitational, his best placing of the year. The At-Large honor is the second consecutive year Schlickenrieder was named to the team, capping a stellar academic and athletic career for the Dukes.
In his sophomore campaign, Tichý finished with a stroke average of 73.28 – the second-best mark on the Dukes. The native of Prague also played in all 32 rounds for JMU in 2023-24 which included a third-place finish at The Carolina Cup on Oct. 19. In his college career, Tichý has been named to the President's List (Fall 2022) and was honored as a JMU Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete in the fall of 2023.
