CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – James Madison completed its three days at the challenging Wahoowa Invitational (Oct. 10-12), where it faced off with competitors from host Virginia, Old Dominion and West Virginia at the Boar's Head Resort.

Daria Munteanu led the way with a 2-1 singles record, as she registered victories against WVU's Audrey Moutama (6-2, 6-3) before rallying for a super-tiebreak win against Virginia's Katie Rolls (6-7 (5), 6-3, 1-0 (3)).

Also notching singles wins on the weekend were Mia Saveljic, who went 1-1 after downing WVU's Daniella Shved (7-6 (7), 6-1) before falling in a super tiebreak to UVA's Melodie Collard (7-6 (4), 1-6, 0-1 (7)).

Saveljic and Sophie Williams also teamed for a doubles triumph against WVU's Moutama and Lyla Byers (6-3) to round out the positive results.

Of the setbacks by JMU, five came in a third-set super tiebreaker.

JMU has a quick turnaround, as it heads to Blacksburg, Va., this week to take on the region's best at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships. Action from the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center takes place Oct. 16-21.
