HARRISONBURG, Va. -- James Madison swim & dive broke a 14-year-old pool record in the 400 Free Relay to end the dual meet, but was edged out by Marshall, 154-145, on Saturday inside of Savage Natatorium.
The Dukes moved to 2-1 in meets this season, as JMU earned six individual wins on the day and added a relay win in the 400 free.
Quoting Head Coach Dane Pedersen
"Really happy with the team's performance today. During the season we talk about taking steps forward... learning, adapting, applying. After our first meet two weeks ago, that was our focus. Taking what we learned and talked about from that meet and applying it today. While execution may not be perfect, we know we are not finished products right now but we are taking positive steps forward. The girls accomplished those goals in strides. Now our job is to evaluate today and continue that forward momentum."
