GREENWOOD, Ind. – James Madison seniors
Elena Kraleva and
Hope Moulin both earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
This is the second career CSC honor for Kraleva while Moulin takes home the honor for the third consecutive year.
Kraleva holds a 3.812 cumulative grade-point average while pursuing her degree in economics. A Dean's List student and 2024 CSC Academic All-District awardee, Kraleva played primarily at Nos. 1 and 2 singles and No. 2 doubles during the spring. For the year, she recorded a 10-17 singles record (4-11 dual) and a 14-15 doubles mark (10-8 dual). That included a solid 7-1 doubles record in Sun Belt Conference play. The Burgas, Bulgaria, native was also named SBC Player of the Week on March 26.
Moulin, who will graduate this week with a degree in accounting, has put together a 3.699 GPA during her four-year career at JMU. A three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and 2023 and 2024 CSC Academic All-District selection, Moulin overcame a hip injury to start in nearly every match this spring. Playing at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, the Lithia, Fla., native posted a 6-11 singles record and 9-10 doubles mark.
To be eligible, an individual must hold at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or older and have played in at least 70% of the team's matches during the spring. This is year three that the sport of tennis has had a standalone team in the Academic All-America® program, with the sport previously falling under the at-large umbrella.
