Dukes Battle Troy to 0-0 Stalemate

TROY, Ala. – James Madison women's soccer outshot Troy 21-to-1; however, neither squad could find the scoreboard as the teams finished 0-0 at the Troy Soccer Complex on Saturday night.
The Dukes move to 5-3-4 (1-1-2 SBC) on the year, as the Trojans slide to 5-4-2 (0-2-2 SBC). Senior Jamie Swartz attempted five shots, with three of them being on goal. Ginny Lackey and Olivia Del Toro each sent three shots. Freshman Isabella Hartofelis fired Troys' only shot of the night.
Sophomore Lili White started at goalkeeper and grabbed her second career shutout. She played all ninety minutes and saved the only shot she faced.
How it Happened
- The JMU offense hit the ground running, offering five shots in the opening 15 minutes of play.
- The Trojans had their first opportunity in the 29th minute with a high shot that was saved by White.
- The Dukes totaled 12 shots in the first frame, their most through a half all season.
- James Madison created a chance in the 57th minute, but Brooke Potter's shot carried wide right.
- JMU had another look in the 80th minute with a header from Lackey that was off the mark.
- Troys' Jiselle Daniels found herself one-on-one with White in the 89th; however, the sophomore keeper managed to swipe the ball away to deny the shot opportunity.
- The Dukes kept possession away from the Trojans for the majority of the second half, not allowing a shot in the last 45 minutes of action.
