The Dukes' record dropped to 19-26 (9-14 Sun Belt), while the Thundering Herd improved to 21-25 (11-12 Sun Belt).

First Inning
The Herd jumped on the board first, scoring a run on a single into center field.

Jack Smith homered out of the nine-hole spot in the lineup to give MU a 2-0 lead.

Marshall doubled the score with a run scoring on a fielder's choice and a single from Smith to make it 4-0.

A sacrifice fly allowed the Herd to increase their lead to five.
