Earned all-conference and all-district nods all four years of high school and was selected all-state in final two seasons… Two-time county pitcher of the year while also being named the conference pitcher of the year… In his senior year he recorded the second longest all-time scoreless inning streak in North Carolina at 46.2 innings… Lettered in basketball, football and cross country while in high school.
