Adam Malloy returns to the JMU coaching staff as a volunteer assistant after joining in August of 2009. Before joining the Dukes, he was a senior staff member at Eastern States Cross Country Camp, the east coast's premier cross country camp in Millersville, Pa.
He specializes in sprints, hurdles, jumps, and mid-distance runners at JMU. Last season, he helped coach Marissa McDonald to a runner-up finish in the long jump at the CAA Championships and fourth place at the ECAC Championship. Along with McDonald, he also coached Brittany Wilhelm, who was a member of the fourth-place 3,200-meter relay at the Outdoor ECAC Championship.
Malloy is a 2009 graduate of Millersville University where he received his degree in elementary education with a minor in athletic coaching.
At Millersville, he was a three-year captain on the university's track and field team and a two-year captain on the cross country team. He earned four All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference accolades during his career and received the 2008 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Academic Award.
He is currently attending James Madison where he is a graduate student studying kinesiology with an emphasis in sport leadership. He plans to receive his degree this spring.
