Mike Cordova is in his second season with the James Madison football program in 2025, as he serves as an offensive analyst. During his first season, he was an offensive graduate assistant.
Cordova joined the Dukes after spending four seasons on Bob Chesney’s staff at Holy Cross (2021-23) where he was running backs coach in 2022 and 2023 while serving in a special teams quality control role in the spring 2021 and fall 2021 campaigns.
During his time at Holy Cross, he helped the program to four Patriot League championships and three berths in the FCS playoffs, highlighted by the team’s FCS quarterfinal appearance in 2022.
In 2023, he coached Jordan Fuller to First Team All-Patriot League accolades, as the Crusaders ranked third nationally in rushing offense (264.2), fourth in total offense (466.6) and seventh in scoring (36.9).
The 2022 season saw Holy Cross go 11-0 during the regular season for the third time ever, and it finished with a program-best 12-1 overall record after reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in over 30 years. The rushing attack ranked sixth nationally with 245.1 rushing yards per game, and both Peter Oliver and Fuller took home All-Patriot League laurels at the running back position.
Holy Cross finished the 2022 campaign with a #6 ranking as a result of numerous marquee wins, including a hail-mary victory against FBS foe Buffalo and an overtime win over ranked Fordham. Holy Cross also earned its first win versus Harvard since 2000 and defeated both Harvard and Yale in the same season for the first time.
Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Cordova served as a running backs coach, video coordinator, and quality control assistant at Wilkes University in 2020.
Before that, he was a running backs coach and quality control assistant at Stonehill College in 2019, where he helped coach running back Justin Felder to second team All-America honors.
Cordova was a standout running back, wide receiver and kick returner at Stonehill, serving as a team captain and graduating in 2019.
