Lee Wins Singles Flight Title, Dukes Claim 26 Wins at Wake Forest Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – James Madison junior Harrison Lee won his second career flight title this weekend at the Wake Forest Invite (Oct. 31 – Nov. 2), as he went 4-0 in Flight D to highlight the Dukes' 26 total victories at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

This is the second straight year that Lee went unbeaten in singles play at Wake Forest, as he also won the D4 singles flight title with a 3-0 mark in the fall of 2024. Lee claimed the flight by virtue of three straight set wins, as well as one comeback win in the semifinals.

Lee opened with a 6-2, 6-0 win over UNCG's Hector Hertz Nissen before downing Cleveland State's Tristan Stine, 6-1, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. The semifinals on Saturday saw Lee rally from a set deficit, as he rallied for a 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-1 victory over North Carolina A&Ts Kaua Santos. In the title bout, Lee upended Charlotte's Jack DiMenna, 6-2, 6-0, to win the flight.

He also teamed with Ty Wunderlich for a doubles win in a consolation match to lead JMU with five total wins.

Claiming four total wins on the weekend were Zach Fleishman, Damian Sancilio and Francisco Sinopoli. Fleishman and Sancilio each won three singles matches with a doubles triumph, while Sinopoli reached the Flight C singles semifinals, going 2-2 in singles, while adding a pair of doubles wins.

One of the doubles wins, teaming with Esteve Agusti, was a solid one in an extra matchup, as the duo defeated South Carolina's Gabe Avram and Charlie Swaine, 6-2. The Gamecock tandem would later advance to the top doubles flight final.

JMU closes the fall tournament season next weekend when it heads to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Fall Invitational (Nov. 7-9).
