WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 17, 2006 Â -- Freshman Corky Julien's (Williamstown, Ontario/Char-lan District) second-half goal lifted the James Madison women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Georgetown Sunday afternoon at North Kehoe Field.
Julien's goal game 12:39 into the second half. She received a pass from senior Sarah Cebulski (Manotick, Ontario/St. Mark's) down the left side of the field, controlled the ball and fired a shot from just inside the 18-yard box.
Georgetown held a 16-4 advantage on shots. JMU freshman goalkeeper Diane Wszalek (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) finished with two saves as she and the Dukes got their second shutout of the year. Hoya goalie Jade Higgins made one save.
JMU won for the fourth time in its last five games and now has a record of 4-4-0, while Georgetown has a 3-3-3 record.
