The Dukes (2-2-2) got on the scoreboard first, as sophomore Cate Tisinger (Clifton, Va./Centreville) netted a goal just 54 seconds into the second period.The goal, scored on a breakaway, was assisted by junior Corky Julien (Williamstown, Ontario/Char-Lan District).
WVU (4-1-2) tied the game with 13:54 left in regulation.The Mountaineers' goal came off a header by Carolyn Blank, with assists credited to Stephanie Burgess and Erica Henderson.
WVU entered the game ranked 14th in the national coaches poll and 17th in the Soccer America and Soccer Buzz polls.The Mountaineers extended their unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2).
The Mountaineers held a 25-8 advantage on shots and took seven corner kicks to three for JMU.
JMU redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Diane Wszalek (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) made a season-high eight saves.
