EUGENE, Oregon, July 9, 2014 - Freshman
Ebony Owusu-Sampah (Woodbridge, Va./C.D. Hylton) finished 10th in the long jump at the United States Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships on Monday at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. She was joined at the event by freshman
Morgan Crewe (Emporia, Va./Greensville County), who took 12th in the high jump.
Owusu-Sampah leapt 5.93 meters on her final jump of the day. She qualified for the event with a leap of 6.01 meters at the ECAC Outdoor Championships and finished with the second-best long jump in the Colonial Athletic Association this season.
Crewe cleared 1.65 meters on her third and final attempt. She wrapped up an outstanding first season with the Dukes, which included a school-record jump of 1.76 meters at the ECAC Outdoor Championships and the best jump in the conference this season.
Both Owusu-Sampah and Crewe were the only athletes from the CAA to compete in their respective events at the Junior Outdoor Championships.
