SOUTHPORT, N.C. - The James Madison women's golf team carded a 45-over par 333 in the third and final round to place sixth at the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association Championships at the Par-72, 6,066-yard St. James Plantation on Sunday.
Leading the Dukes from wire-to-wire this weekend was freshman
Jordan McKelvin (81-80-79 - 240), who finished tied for 15th out of 40 individual golfers at 24-over par. The top-15 finish is the first of her career after she rose three spots in the standings thanks to a tournament-best score in the final round.
The Delaware Blue Hens (323-298-306 - 927) took home their first CAA Championship in women's golf to join JMU, Georgia State, UNCW and the College of Charleston as the only teams to ever win the tournament. Delaware redshirt senior Andi Slane won her second consecutive CAA individual title after finishing 2-over par this year.
For winning the title, Delaware receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament regionals.
Sophomores
