NEW ORLEANS -
Bella Flores has been named the Sun Belt Conference Co-Golfer of the Week, announced by the SBC on Thursday.
Flores, who competed as an individual at the Pirate Collegiate Classic this weekend, topped the scorecard for the Dukes at a 4-under 212, tying for sixth place. This marked the second top-10 finish of her career and her overall score of 212 tied for the seventh lowest 54-hole total in JMU history.
Her performance included a career-best third round as the Kingwood, Texas native shot a 5-under 67. This is both the third-lowest round total and third-lowest round to par in program history.
Across 54 holes played at the Greenville Country Club this week, she carded 14 birdies and an eagle.
This marks the first weekly honor of Flores' career and first for the Dukes since March 21, 2024. She shares the honor with Troy's Roberta Alvarez, who she also shared the sixth-place finish at the Pirate Collegiate Classic with this week.
Flores and the Dukes will be back in action Oct. 5-6 at The Ally at Old Waverly, hosted by Mississippi State in West Point, Miss.
