MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Sophomore
Shota Ozaki tied for fourth individually to lead James Madison to a fourth-place finish at the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf Championships, hosted at the par-72, 7,035-yard Salisbury Country Club.
As a team, the Dukes shot 8-over 296 in their final round, after inclement weather forced the suspension of the final nine holes from Saturday until Sunday. JMU took home fourth, finishing at 4-under 860, just four strokes back of third-place Towson at the nine-team tournament.
Ozaki posted a pair of birdies on Sunday morning to finish his two-day final round at 2-over 74, closing his tournament at 5-under 211. The performance marked his first top-five finish of the season.
Junior
Matt Cowgill continued his strong weekend, firing a final round of even-par 72 to join Ozaki in the top 10 in sole possession of eighth place. Cowgill bounced back from an opening-round 75 to close his tournament at 2-under 214, just a stroke behind seventh place and good for his first top-10 finish this year.

QUOTING COACH FORBES
"The guys fought today, but we just had too big a mountain to climb this morning. We had to take some risks to try and run down the leaders, but they played well after the weather delay."
