On the behalf of JMU Athletics and Duke LEAD, we want to say thank you to Ben and Kate Keefer for their generous donation towards our Student-Athlete Leadership Development Program.
The Keefers are proud student-athlete alumni of JMU. During their four years here, Ben (Men's Golf - 2000) and Kate (Women's Gymnastics-2001) spent countless hours on the golf course, training rooms, and in our very own Godwin Hall building relationships and leadership skills that would last a lifetime. The Keefers pride themselves on developing others and believe the skills that are acquired as a student-athlete are 100% transferable to the workforce.
As stated by the Keefers, "If we can help our student-athletes make those connections sooner, their impact will be exponentially greater." JMU Athletics has been a part of the lives of Ben and Kate for 25 years and they are confident that Dukes LEAD is a competitive advantage for JMU. "The facilities and championships are attractive, but paired with professional growth opportunities, transition support, and expanded networks; JMU will continue to raise the bar."
