- James Madison will return to the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Thursday, looking to bounce back from a difficult road decision against Elon. Standing in the Dukes' way is UNCW, who enters Thursday's matchup on a six-game winning streak.

- JMU is forcing 17.67 turnovers per game thus far in 2021-22, 16th-most in the country, The Dukes' 25 forced turnovers against William & Mary was the most against a Division I opponent since 2007, and fifth instance of 20+ forced turnovers this season.
- The Dukes have found success at the free-throw line as of late, shooting above their season average of .703 in each of their first four conference contests, making 18 free or more throws in four of their last five games.
- After starting the season just 3-5, UNCW has rebounded to win its last six, with its last five wins each coming by single digits.
- Senior guard Jaylen Sims leads the Seahawks with 14.0 points per game, while graduate student Mike Okauru (11.6) and junior Shykeim Phillips (10.5) also average in double figures.
- Okauru also leads UNCW with 42 assists and ranks sixth in the league with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio.
