- James Madison will play the third of four straight home games on Thursday, battling Drexel at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
- After dropping back-to-back contests earlier in the week, the Dukes ended last week's slate with a 95-94 home victory on Saturday against College of Charleston. Redshirt junior Vado Morse dropped a career-high 32 points in the win, including 21 in the first half, making a career-high 13 free throws and adding five triples during the contest.
- The Dukes have been no stranger to close games in 2021-22, as they have played 10 games decided by five or fewer points, going 8-2 in those contests. The eight victories by five points or less is the most since the 2012-13 season.
- Morse leads the JMU offensive attack with 14.7 points per game and has 20 or more points in five of his six league games.
- James Madison ranks 24th in the nation and first in the league with a 48.0% field goal percentage so far this season. Among players with at least 50 field goal attempts, three Dukes - graduate transfer Alonzo Sule (.658), redshirt freshman Justin Amadi (.641), and redshirt freshman Terell Strickland (.563) - are all shooting at least 55% from the field. Both Sule's and Amadi's percentages are among the top five in JMU history, and would also rank inside the top five in the country.
- The Dukes made 31 free throws in Saturday's win, their most made in a game since Nov. 27, 2010 against Eastern Michigan.
- JMU trailed by as many as 11 in the CofC win, marking the fifth double-digit comeback win of the season, the most since 2012-13.\
- With 14 steals against Charleston, the Dukes have at least 10 in nine contests this season. JMU ranks seventh in the country in steals per game (10.2), and T-18th in total steals (174). Amadi, Morse, and grad transfer Takal Molson each have more than 25 this season.
- James Madison has forced 20+ turnovers in six games this season, the most such instances in an season since 1996-97.
- Drexel has alternated wins and losses to start league play, and are coming off an 83-75 defeat to William & Mary on Saturday.
- Senior Camren Wynter leads the Dragons with 15.4 points per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.
- The Dragons have taken care of the basketball, committing 15 or more turnovers in just four of 16 games this season.
- Drexel has the fewest total steals in the league with just 86, but have snagged 10 or more in three of their last four.
- The Dukes and Dragons have matched up 40 times, with Drexel leading the all-time series, 24-16.
