QUICK HITS
- James Madison will play their fourth consecutive home game on Saturday, looking to bounce back against Delaware at 4pm.
- The Dukes dropped Thursday's game to Drexel, 88-82 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes fought from eight points down in the second half to tie the game at 67, but then allowed a 14-4 run to the Dragons, which put the game out of reach.
- Redshirt junior Vado Morse leads JMU on offense with 14.9 points per game this season which ranks fifth in the league. Morse is averaging 21.6 points per game in league play, and has eclipsed 20 points in five of seven conference tilts.
- Morse and graduate transfer Takal Molson have both scored in double-figures in 10 of the Dukes' 18 conference games, including each of James Madison's seven conference contests. Molson and Morse are also JMU's assist leaders, with 44 and 42, respectively.
- James Madison ranks 25th in the nation and first in the league with a 48.1% field goal percentage so far this season. Among players with at least 50 field goal attempts, three Dukes - redshirt freshman Justin Amadi (.648), graduate transfer Alonzo Sule (.625), and redshirt freshman Terell Strickland (.563) - are all shooting at least 55% from the field. Amadi, who set the JMU all-time record for best field goal percentage last season, would rank fourth in the country in that statistic this season.
- Redshirt freshman Terrence Edwards recorded his first career double-double on Thursday with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Edwards tied a career-high in points, while his rebound total set a new career-best. He also made a career-high eight field goals.
- Graduate transfer Charles Falden made four three-pointers on Thursday, marking the fifth time he has made four or more in a game. Falden had four total games in four seasons at Winthrop with four made threes or more.
- JMU turned the ball over just nine times against Drexel, the second time the Dukes have had single-digit turnovers in a game (Elon).
SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS
- Despite a home loss to Towson on Monday, Delaware is 5-3 in the conference, good for fourth place in the league. The Blue Hens and Tigers had their rematch suspended on Thursday during the second half, and will complete that game at a later date.
- Graduate student Dylan Painter leads the Blue Hens with 14.3 points per game, scoring 23 in UD's last win on Jan. 22 vs Elon.
- Scoring 80 points has been an important mark for Delaware, as the Blue Hens have reached 80 in each of their last four wins.
- Fifth-year Kevin Anderson has the second-most total assists in the league with 80, averaging 3.8 per game.
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will be the 35th all-time meeting between the two schools, with UD leading the series 21-13, taking seven of the last eight.
- Delaware will be facing JMU at the Atlantic Union Bank Center for the first time. The Dukes and Blue Hens have not met in nearly two calendar years due to COVID-19 scheduling alterations, having last matched up on Feb. 8, 2020 which produced a narrow UD victory.
