RALEIGH, N.C. -- James Madison track & field completed its time at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday afternoon at the Paul Derr Track Facility.

Annie Johnson,
Alexys Taylor,
Tyrah Burrow, andÂ
Meredith Willis at the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in 2017.

Quoting Head Coach Delethea Quarles
"The second outdoor meet of this year at Raleigh Relays gave us some exceptional performances that I am elated about. Our two school records being broken this early in the outdoor season was absolutely amazing. This certainly moves the bar faster for the season, with freshman
Asia Powell running her best-ever 100m in 11.50 seconds and
Holly Mpassy in the 400m at 54.40.
Shelby Staib came back with another consistent week in the javelin while
Laura Webb ran her best 5K in 16:46.19. Finishing the day with the 4x400-meter relay running our best time by more than six seconds and just missing another school record makes the upcoming weeks exciting. Many more improved performances were accomplished that put us closer to what we hope to improve on our conference finish and meet qualifying standards for NCAA's."
