PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – No. 2 James Madison dropped a tough 4-0 decision top-seeded Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon in the title match of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.

The Dukes ended their season with a 15-8 overall record, having advanced to a championship final for the fifth time out of a possible six seasons since 2016. The Monarchs improved to 18-4 and won their 13th straight match to move on to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.

The Monarchs won the doubles point with a pair of victories and claimed singles victories on courts one, two and five to secure the win. JMU senior Daniela Voloh was the lone Duke to capture a set, as she led on court three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles Play

ODU took the 1-0 lead with wins on courts one and three.
The Monarchs gained the advantage on court one, as Sofia Johnson and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya defeated Kylie Moulin and Ines Oliveira, 6-2.
After a back-and-forth battle on court three, the ODU tandem of Shahar Biran and Alesya Yakubovich slid past Daria Afanasyeva and Reka Matko, 6-4, to secure the doubles point.
On court two, the match between Daria Munteanu and Daniela Voloh and ODU's Allison Isaacs and Alexandra Viktorovich went unfinished, at 3-4.

Singles Play

ODU doubled its lead to 2-0 on court five, where Viktorovich downed Oliveira, 6-1, 6-1.
Minutes later, the Monarch lead grew to 3-0, as Sasnouskaya defeated Kylie Moulin, 6-1, 6-1.
The Monarchs clinched the championship on court two, as Johnson bested Afanasyeva, 6-2, 6-3.
Voloh came back to win a big first-set tiebreak on court three, as she led Biran 7-6 (2) at the conclusion of the match.
Two other bouts went unfinished, with ODU led on courts four and six.

Sunday marked the final match of the collegiate careers for seniors Daria Afanasyeva, Kylie Moulin and Daniela Voloh.
The trio combined for 442 total victories, including 228 singles and 214 doubles matches.
Voloh set a school record with 91 singles victories and tied Jona Roka (2016-21) for the most combined wins, at 165. She also ranks fourth with 74 doubles triumphs.
For Moulin, she concludes her career ranking eighth in both singles (70) and doubles (61) victories and seventh in total triumphs (131).
Afanasyeva leaves the Dukes ranked ninth in singles victories (67), third in doubles wins (79) and fourth in total triumphs (146).
Voloh and Afanasyeva guided the Dukes to two conference titles, while Moulin was part of the program's second in 2021.
