ATLANTA – Georgia State won two of three doubles matches and claimed a trio of straight-set singles victories en route to a 4-0 win against James Madison on Sunday morning in Sun Belt Conference men's tennis action at the Georgia State Tennis Center.

The Panthers improved to 6-10 on the year and 1-2 in Sun Belt play, snapping their six-match skid, while the Dukes fell for the fourth straight outing, dropping to 7-9 overall and 0-4 in league matches.

GSU also moved to 2-1 all-time against JMU, winning in the teams' first showdown in Atlanta. JMU won its home match last season, while the Panthers earned the initial victory in 2010 on a neutral court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles Play
- GSU won two of three doubles bouts to grab the early 1-0 lead.
- The team of Esteve Agusti and Julian Lozano dominated on court one, rolling past Gabriele Datei and Maxwell Weir, 6-1.
- Baran Soyler and Edward Tymes evened things up on court three, as they downed Markus Giersiepen and Edson Sanchez, 6-2.
- The Panthers secured the doubles point on court two, where Naufal Kamaruzzaman and Diogo Morais defeated Youssef Sadek and Francisco Sinopoli, 6-3.

Singles Play
- GSU extended its lead on court four, as Morais took a 6-4, 6-2 victory from Sinopoli.
- The lead moved to 3-0 in favor of the hosts, as Tymes had a big second set to upend Agusti, 6-4, 6-1, on court three.
- The hosts clinched the match on court five, where Weir won a tiebreak and followed it up with a strong second en route to a 7-6 (6), 6-3 victory over Giersiepen.
- All other matches went unfinished, and Lozano was the lone Duke to hold a set lead and needed just one more game to win his bout on court two.
