MONROE, La. – James Madison track & field tallied 40 points for 11th place at the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday night at Groseclose Track.
Texas State took home the team title with 120.2 points, followed by Louisiana (2nd – 115.7), Arkansas State (3rd – 92), Southern Miss (4th – 90.2) and Marshall (5th – 71.2).
Quoting Director Delethea Quarles
"I'm proud of the team and the ones that stepped up. The Sun Belt Conference for our sport is improving at such a rapid pace – we were glad to contend and score in some of our best events. We had amazing leadership from our senior Miranda, winning the 10k and coming back with a silver medal in the 5k. We had other good performances that were some
personal bests, although it was not good enough to move our team's desired overall score. We will have to keep building to move up in this conference."
