Sofia DeCerb has been named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The recognition marks DeCerb's first weekly conference honor of the season and the second of her career. The redshirt sophomore becomes the third Duke to win the award this season, and the fourth overall to receive a weekly laurel.
The redshirt sophomore grabbed three saves and logged her third clean sheet of the season as JMU punched its ticket to the 2025 Sun Belt Championship with a 2-0 victory at Georgia State.
The 2025 SBC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year has posted a .767 save percentage and a 1.136 goals against average through 11 games played, numbers that rank her fourth and sixth in the conference, respectively.
James Madison will close out the regular season with a Sun Belt clash on Wednesday, October 29, at Texas State. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
