Dukes Sign Four Decorated Golfers on Signing Day

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison men's golf Head Coach Carter Cheves announced the signing of four golfers to aid agreements on National Signing Day on Wednesday afternoon.
The men's golf program signed Blake Hartman, Henry Holland, Charles McPherson, and Finn Watson on Wednesday, and the players will join the program ahead of the 2026-27 season.Â
"We're excited to have Finn, Blake, Henry and Charles joining our program next fall!" Cheves said. "They're all high character individuals and accomplished players. The future of JMU Golf looks bright with these guys helping lead the way!"
Blake Hartman | Dublin, Ohio | Dublin Jerome High School
- Plans on majoring in business
- Likes to play pickleball and basketball along with golf
- Team captain at Dublin Jerome High
- Son of Stacy and Matt Hartman
- Has a brother, Jerod, and sister, Micki Rausch
- Father, Marty, played basketball at Capital UniversityÂ
- Led team to state championship in the fall
- First Team All-District in 2025

Henry Holland | Charlotte, N.C. | Charlotte Latin School
- Pursuing private pilots' license
- Plans on majoring in finance
- Son of Mary and Jonathan Holland
- Mother, Mary, played collegiate tennis at College of Charleston
- NCISAA All-State in 2025, Individual medalist at -8 (68, 68)
- CISAA Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference
- 2024 Bill Harvey Memorial Champion (69-66-72)
- Ranked top five in state of North Carolina and top 60 nationally for class of 2026
Charles McPherson | Durham, N.C. | Cardinal Gibbons High School
- Son of Claire and James McPherson
- Has a brother, William
- Mom, Claire, rowed at Syracuse. Father James played basketball and soccer at Johns Hopkins University
- Played for Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, N.C.
- Honor Roll first three years of high school
- Qualified for state championship in sophomore and junior seasons
- Ranked inside top 100 nationally in AJCA Rolex Rankings, No. 5 in North Carolina
Finn Watson | Arlington, Va. | Woodlawn Secondary School
- Son of Shelly Black and Brian Watson

- Loves spending time with family
