RALEIGH, N.C. – Four members of the James Madison men's golf team competed at the Richard Sykes Individual on Saturday and Sunday.
Owen Kose, Garrett Kuhla, Jonas DeLeon, and Tommy McKenzie completed two rounds at the par-71, 7,119-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Kose came away with JMU's top round and finish, as the senior tied for 13th in the 76-player field with rounds of 69 (-2) and 71 (E). His score of two-under 69 is a season low.
Kuhla bounced back from a first-round 79 with an even-par 71 in his second round to tie for 51st at 150 (+8), while DeLeon (71-81) tied for 56th at 152 (+10), two strokes behind Kuhla.
McKenzie rounded out the JMU representation in North Carolina, placing 69th with rounds of 78 and 80.
The Dukes will begin team stroke-play at the Daytona Intercollegiate on March 2 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
