RICHMOND, Va. – Senior
Owen Kose picked up a season-high tie for ninth to lead James Madison men's golf at the Giles-Spratley Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon.

Kose's tie for ninth came in an 89-player field that traversed the par-72, 7,135-yard Independence Golf Club. The native of Holly Springs, N.C., finished with rounds of 69-72-71 and a three-round score of 212 (-4).

Playing as an individual,
Jonas DeLeon tied for 22nd with a 54-hole tally of even-par 216 after carding rounds of 72-70-74. The tie for 22nd is a season-best for the junior from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

As a team, JMU registered rounds of 287-293-292 to finish eight-over par 872. Charleston won the tournament by 13 strokes, finishing at 835 (-29).

Freshman
Ethan Anderson continued his solid spring, tying for 27th with rounds of 72-72-73 to finish with a three-round score of 217 (+1).
Alex Seibal tied for 54th after posting a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) and rounds of 75-73-73.

Michael Hake recorded a 71 (-1) in his first round before slipping to a tie for 62nd with a three-round score of 223 (+7). Sophomore René Bergendi finished 80th with a 54-hole score of 231 (77-79-75) to close out the JMU contingent in Richmond.

The Dukes will round out the 2025-26 regular-season slate at the Mountaineer Invitational in Bridgeport, W.Va., April 13-14.
