CHARLOTTE, N.C. – James Madison baseball tied the game at two-all in the seventh inning, but a walk-off homer allowed Charlotte to escape with a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium.

The Dukes dropped to 5-10 and fell in its sixth consecutive game, while the 49ers improved to 7-6.

Todd Mozoki got the nod to start, going tossing three innings of work with four strikeouts while allowing one run and walking five.

Third Inning
Back-to-back base knocks from Charlotte put it on the board, using a 1-2 punch of a double and a triple to make it 1-0.

A leadoff double set up the Niners to knock in a second run on a single to push their lead to 2-0.

Seventh Inning
JMU tied the game in the seventh, leading off the inning with Moody reaching on an error. With two outs, graduate
Corey Dowdell worked a full count and drew a walk to set up Poole to lace his first career triple and knock in both runs to tie the game at two-all.

With one out, Chandler Riley took the fifth pitch he saw over the right field wall to give Charlotte a 3-2 walk-off win.

- Max Kuhle went a season-high 3.2 innings, coming out of the bullpen.
- It is the Dukes' first walk-off loss since falling in extra innings to South Carolina in last year's Raleigh Regional opener. It's the first walk-off home run given up by JMU since falling at Hofstra on May 14, 2022.
