HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison baseball fell to No. 20 Troy, 4-0, in Sun Belt Conference action as the teams wrapped up the three-game series at Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday morning.
The Dukes dropped to 12-24 (5-10 SBC) while the Trojans improved to 26-11 (10-5 SBC).
Junior
Wyatt Peifer went 2-for-4 with a double at the plate for the Dukes. Senior
Todd Mozoki went 2.2 innings on the mound and struck out four while surrendering three runs on two hits.
How It Happened
Third Inning
Troy took advantage of free bases, scoring three runs with the bases loaded on a hit-by-pitch and back-to-back walks.
Eighth Inning
With the help of an error to move the runner up, the Trojans scored a run to make it 4-0 on a single.
Game Notes
- Max Kuhle pitched a career-high 6.1 innings, allowing just one run (unearned), two walks and two hits while striking out a career-high-tying nine batters.
- JMU went 17 batters between the third and eighth innings without allowing a hit.
- The Dukes left 11 on base compared to Troy's six.
