POINT CLEAR, Ala. - Freshman Bella Flores took home a tie for 16th place to lead the James Madison women's golf team to an 11th-place finish at the 2025 Sun Belt Championship.
Flores' 16th place finish came out of 69 competitors and is the best by a JMU freshman in a conference championship since teammate Kayleigh Reinke tied for 20th at the 2022 CAA Championship. The native of Kingwood, Texas, carded rounds of 73-75-73 to finish at 221 (+5) at the par-72, 6,106-yard Lakewood Club Golf Course.
Reinke came in as the No. 2 finisher for JMU, tying for 30th at 226 (+10). The senior concluded her collegiate career with a season-low 74 (+2) in the first round before firing consecutive rounds of 4-over 76 to close the tournament.
No. 33 Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Southern Miss, and ULM advanced to the match play portion tournament as the top four teams across 54 holes. Georgia Southern paced the field throughout the tournament and carded an aggregate score of 870 (+6), while Momoka Anso of Southern Miss took home individual medalist honors with a score of 207 (-9).
Freshman Hannah Rabb came in 40th in her Sun Belt Championship debut, finishing at 229 (+13). Seniors Tatum Walsh (77-83-76) and Lauren Waxer-Gooding (79-82-80) closed their collegiate careers with ties for 61st and 65th, respectively.
