Georgia State Stymies Dukes’ Bats

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Georgia State limited James Madison baseball to just three hits, as the Dukes fell, 10-0, in seven innings due to the run rule on Friday night at Veterans Memorial Park in Sun Belt Conference action.
The Dukes dropped to 10-20 (4-6 SBC) while the Panthers improved to 19-13 (6-4 SBC).
Three Dukes recorded hits, led by sophomore Kyle Langley who went 1-for-2 with a walk. Sophomore Jackson Logar started on the mound, going 5.1 innings and striking out five while giving up four runs and seven hits.
How It Happened
Second Inning
Using a hit-and-run to put runners on the corners with one down, Georgia State knocked in the first run of the game on a groundout.
Third Inning
After an infield single, a double to dead center pushed a run across for the Panthers before a single followed the extra-base hit to make it 3-0.
Fifth Inning
Kaleb Freeman hit his ninth homer of the season to push Georgia State's lead to 4-0.
Sixth Inning
Four unearned runs were scored by Georgia State to make it 8-0, capitalizing on an error to begin the inning and then setting up bases loaded scenarios.
Seventh Inning
A two-run double from William Maginnis gave the Panthers a 10-0 lead.
