STATESBORO, Ga. – Down four runs after two innings, James Madison baseball scored four runs in the fifth to tie and then added two runs in the sixth to take down Georgia Southern, 7-6, on Sunday afternoon to win the series at J.I. Clements Stadium in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Dukes improved to 15-33 (8-16 SBC), winning their first series since March 21-23, while the Eagles fell to 25-23 (11-13 SBC).

Wyatt Peifer and sophomore
Kyle Langley both went 3-for-4 at the plate, with Peifer adding two runs scored, three RBIs and a homer while Langley recorded two runs scored and an RBI. On the mound,
Jackson Logar (4-3) earned the win by tossing 5.1 innings with four strikeouts. Junior
Jaden Kinsler came in with two on and two outs in the bottom of the ninth to pick up his first career save.

Second Inning
Back-to-back singles from Peifer and freshman
Reece Moody to lead the inning off put runners on the corners. JMU executed a successful double steal to take the first lead of the game as Peifer touched home.

GS responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning, using a pair of singles, a squeeze bunt and a bases loaded walk to take a 5-1 lead.

Maddux Fleck led off by reaching on an error and moved to second on a passed ball. Langley then singled in Fleck. Two batters later, senior
Coleman Calabrese doubled, setting up Peifer to launch a three-run homer to tie the game at five.

JMU took the lead back with back-to-back single, as an error helped score a run on the first single off the bat of Langley before senior
Ryan Dooley plated Langley with his senior to make it 7-5.

The Eagles brought the game within one, using a double followed by a single to make it a 7-6 game.
